Privacy Policy

The short version: your portfolio never leaves your device. Gold Pricer keeps a minimal account record and anonymous-style usage counts on its own server to power referrals and improve the app — and nothing else. No ads, no tracking, no selling of data.
Information stored on your device
- Portfolio data — the gold purchases you record (name, weight, price paid, dates, notes, and photos) are stored only in the app's local storage on your iPhone. They are never uploaded anywhere.
- Photos — pictures you take of your gold, and the on-device text recognition used to read their engravings, are processed entirely on your iPhone. Images are not transmitted.
Information stored on our server
- Account — when you sign in with Apple, we receive an anonymous Apple identifier and, only if you choose to share them, your name and email address. These create your account and power the invite-a-friend program.
- Referrals — your invite code and which invites were redeemed, so rewards can be granted.
- Usage events — basic product events (such as "app opened", "gold added", "subscription screen viewed") linked to your account identifier, used to understand and improve the app. Your portfolio contents are not part of these events.
- Subscription status — Apple may notify our server of subscription lifecycle changes (renewal, cancellation). These contain no payment details; Apple processes all payments.
Information requested from third parties
To show live prices, charts, and news, the app requests public market data from third-party services (a gold spot-price API and Yahoo Finance endpoints). Like any internet request, these services receive your IP address when contacted. No personal or portfolio information is included in these requests.
What we don't do
- No advertising or ad identifiers
- No tracking across other companies' apps or websites
- No selling or sharing of your data with data brokers
- No access to your payment information — Apple handles all billing
Data deletion
Deleting the app removes all portfolio data and sign-in information from your device. To delete your server-side account record (identifier, email, referral history, and usage events), email us at the address below and we will delete it within 30 days. You can also revoke the app's Sign in with Apple access at any time in Settings → Apple ID → Sign-In & Security.
Children
Gold Pricer is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.
Changes
If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted at this address with a new date above.
